Infant Baptism

MUST IT ALWAYS BE IN THE BIBLE? [Tuesday Bonus]

Where in the Bible did they write that Jesus bathed or did that one ?

If we can’t find it, then following the arguments of those against infant baptism, with the reason that we should follow exactly what Jesus did, we should not also bath or do that one  since it is not stated specifically in the bible. In that case, we would be following his example!

Note that, in ancient Israel, women and children were not particularly regarded as men (Remember the miracle of the feeding of the 5000- not counting women and children- Matthew 14:21), so the writers wouldn’t even be so enthused about reporting specific cases of infant baptism. The best they would do will be to include them in households like we see in the cases of Lydia who was converted by Paul and was baptized with her household (Acts 16:15)

The Philippian jailer, whom Paul and Silas converted was converted to the faith and was baptized that very night along with all his family (Acts 16:33). Unless of course we can prove the specific ages of each of the members of the households in question!

Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written. (John 21:25)

But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name. (John 20:31).

God bless you.
